We were sleeping, I guess, in a long night, I don't know how long. And then I saw you in my dream of yesterday. Somehow I felt like I knew you, I said, and you seemed to recognize me, too. We walked through many nights, dancing, holding each other's hands. Like shooting stars across the desert night, we sparkled brightly. And then one day, at dawn, when the moon was low again, I longed to see you. I longed to see you in my dreams of yesteryear, and I longed to see you today. I imagined holding hands with you today, and laughing again. I am about to wake up from this long night, from my long dream.

우리는 아마 긴 잠을 자고 있는 것 같아. 언제부터였는지 모를 긴 밤에. 오래도록 긴 꿈을 꾸면서. 그러다 어제의 꿈에서 너를 본 거야. 왠지 너를 아는 것만 같다고, 나는 말했어. 너도 나를 알아본 것 같았지. 우리는, 서로의 손을 마주잡고 춤을 추며 수많은 밤을 거닐었어. 사막의 밤을 가로지르는 별똥별처럼, 우리는 크게 반짝였어. 그리고 어느 날, 다시 달이 저무는 새벽에 나는 너를 보고 싶어졌어. 지난 꿈속에서 본 너를, 오늘은 만나고 싶어졌어. 오늘의 너를 만나 손을 맞잡고 다시 웃는 상상을 해. 나는 이제 길었던 이 밤에서, 오랜 내 꿈에서 깨려고 해.

너의 밤을 가져와 놓고

가루를 내어

나의 꿈 위에 뿌렸다.

왜인지 그것들은

사라지지 않고

또 뿌리를 내려

다시 밤이 열리더라.

Palm to palm

나는 오늘 네 시부터 노란 탁자에 앉아 코코아를 마실거야.

아무도 오지 않아도 괜찮아. 그 시간은 나와 코코아를 위한 시간이지.

나는 그 시간을 혼자 즐길 줄 아는걸.

하지만 오늘 조금은, 네가 오길 바랐나 봐.

코코아보다도.

<균형, 숲, 좋아하는마음, 산책>

누군가를, 무엇인가를 좋아하게 되어버린다는 건

나도 모르는 사이에.

아주 문득,

걷다가 어느 날,

저기에 저게 있었나?

저 빨갛고 작은 동그라미가 여기에 있었나.

스치듯 고개를 갸웃하고 마저 걷는다.

그런데 자꾸만

여기저기서 마주치는 거야.

풀숲에서 빼꼼

나를 쳐다보는 것 같기도 하고,

어디서 떨어져서는 데굴데굴

나에게 굴러오는 것 같기도 하고,

언제였는지도 모르게

머리 위에 동동 떠있기도 하고.

나는 생각하겠지.

도대체 저 예쁘고 빨간 동그라미는

자꾸 어디서 나타나는 거람.

그러다 아차 하는 순간,

내 마음에 와르르 쏟아져버리는 빨간 동그라미를

나는 손 쓸 도리 없이 바라보고만 있어야 할 거야.

아마 어쩔 수가 없을 거야.

결국 너는 내 마음의 더 깊은 곳으로

쿵 떨어져 버리겠지.

우리가 좋아하는 마음에 균형이 있을 수 있을까.

Falling in love with someone or something can happen
Without even being aware of it.

Very suddenly,
one day while walking,
Was that there?

Was that little red circle here?

I shake my head and keep walking.

But
I keep seeing them here and there.

Peeking out of the grass
It seems to be staring at me,
or they seem to come out
rolling toward me out of nowhere,
I don't even know when it was
floating above my head.

I'd be thinking.
Where the strange is that pretty red circle
keeps appearing out of nowhere.

And then I realize,
I'll be staring down at that red circle
I'm going to have to stare at it and just stare.

Maybe I can't do anything about it.

Eventually, you'll plummet
deeper into my heart.

I wonder if there can be balance in our love affair.
